Marathon Madness 2021

There was great excitement in Dromiskin on the Tuesday 18th October as Marathon Madness took over in St.Peter’s N.S. Every child and teacher in the school, in relay, combined to run the marathon distance of 26 miles. Beginning at 9.15am they ran continuously for nearly three hours to complete this daunting task. Although we didn’t beat our previous record, we finished with an excellent time of 2:45;19. The last km from 6th Class was completed in 2 minutes 26 seconds. The future of athletics in Dromiskin is in safe hands!

A huge thank you to Mr. Mc Comish, Anne, 5th class and St.Peters A.C. for making the event so enjoyable for everybody. 5th Class were a credit to their teacher as they guided the children from Junior Infants to Sixth Class around the track. Their good cheer and encouragement was a joy to behold and their enthusiasm definitely kept the motivation high throughout the day.

It will definitely be a highlight of the 21/22 school year. To celebrate the fantastic effort by all classes the children earned themselves a homework pass for the night! Many thanks to all the children, their parents, extended families and friends for their generosity and support. All cards returned will be entered into a raffle on Friday and we will have the final total raised then.
