Thursday 28th February 2019, 11am, in Dromiskin Chapel was the time and venue for this year’s Confirmation for Ms Keane’s Sixth Class along with Ms O Hare and the boys and girls from our neighbouring school, St Michael’s in Darver. They all had worked very hard for a number of months for this special day as they prepared to receive the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit. Their families too were very excited as they celebrated this lovely occasion in their children’s lives.

The Monday night previously confirmandi, sponsors and families attended a Ceremony of Light along with Fr Mc Enroe in St Peter’s church. This set the tone for the beautiful ceremony that was to follow.

The boys and girls from Darver and Dromiskin did their schools, teachers and families proud. Their Entrance Procession, readings, singing, responses and Offertory Procession were prayerful and reverential  inspiring all to take an active part in the liturgy.

After the ceremony Fr Mc Enroe thanked all those who had made this occasion so special. In particular he thanked class teachers Ms Keane and Ms O Hare and gave a special mention to the fabulous St. Peter’s N.S. choir whose beautiful singing added so much to the day. Ms. Farrell and Ms. Loughran did a wonderful job preparing the children in the choir.

The Parents’ Committees from both schools provided refreshments in the school hall afterwards and it was lovely to see the whole school community join together to celebrate with the pupils. We hope everyone had a wonderful day.
