In St. Peter’s, we pride ourselves on having a wide range of ICT available for our children to use to enhance their learning. We use Interactive Whiteboards (IWB) initially operated by interactive pens and subsequently touch screen. We have two laptop trolleys with 16 DELL laptops and 16 Compaq laptops, so we can have one laptop for each child (depending on the activity). Each classroom is equipped with a digital camera, speaker system, microphone and at least one set of headphones. In 2016 we began the introduction of large screen interactive televisions

We have work stations in 6 classrooms and in the library. On each of these stations there is room for 3-4 computer screens. We also have a TV screen set up in our main reception area, which can broadcast the latest information to parents almost instantly. An overhead data  projector and screen are located in the main hall.

Since 2012 we have visualisers in most of the classrooms. These are another very useful resource to support the work carried out by teachers and pupils

Early 2013 saw the introduction of 6 iPads – excellent for station teaching particularly in the Junior classes. We have dowloaded excellent apps to enhance both literacy and numeracy and the children are not alone enjoying their activities but also learning lots!! September 2013 saw 6 more iPads provided for the Senior end of the school as well as an iPad for Special Needs Education.

All this wonderful technology was made possible by the continued support of the parents and community during our fundraising activities. We have e-fibre broadband connection, wireless internet access throughout the school and pages on our website devoted to interactive educational activities – IWB (Interactive White Board).

Our school website and Twitter account regularly showcase the activities going on in the school.
