The Parents’ Council
The Parents’ Council has been fantastic in supporting the school in promoting many projects such as Healthy Eating with Fruit /Veg Days, fundraising Walks to provide the finances for School Wish List in June and I thank the many parents who have approached the school with offers of books, secondhand uniforms, fundraising ideas etc. It is obvious that we are all looking for ways to enhance the learning for the children.
Primary Language Curriculum Focus
Thank you to the parents who filled in the Parents’ Questionnaire in June re your child’s Reading Experience and Reading Preferences. The Primary Language Curriculum focus for St Peter’s School is Engagement and Motivation in Literacy for English and Irish. Your child will be aware of D.E.A.R.- Drop Everything and Read to encourage reading on a daily basis. The information from the questionnaire will inform teachers on providing suitable reading material for all ages and abilities. We ask you to support this by reading to/with your child, asking them questions and discussing what they read. If you have the time please join them in Dundalk/Ardee Libraries. We will also be focusing on Gaeilge- Words in their school environment so child will be aware of focail agus frásaí in use throughout the school.
Foghlaim – Cairdeas – Spraoi
Thank you for preparing your child for a great start to School Year 2021-22. The school motto- Foghlaim, Cairdeas, Spraoi – Learning, Friendship, Fun is what we are about and together we will do our best to fulfil that motto in a safe school environment.
