A group of 6th class boys and girls had their first ever Gaeltacht experience when they attended Coláiste Bhríde, Rann na Feirste, Contae Dhún na nGall on May 25th. All fifteen pupils enjoyed this memorable experience, soaking up the Irish culture with language classes in the morning, sports in the afternoon and Céilí dancing, Tráth na gCeist and even Bingó as Gaeilge in the evenings. We thank both Mr McComish and Ms Lynch for facilitating the five days and ensuring that each boy and girl felt at home when so far away from Dromiskin. The children enjoyed living with families in the Gaetacht community. We would like to thank the Bean an Tí at Teach Ann-Marie and Teach Phrionsias Ó Searcaigh for minding the boys and girls so well.
We hope next year’s group will have a similar experience and enjoy practising their Irish skills in this beautiful part of Ireland.
