St Peter’s school community celebrated Catholic Schools Week with a beautiful mass on Tuesday to honour all our grandparents. Fr Gerry asked us to remember the theme ‘Alive in Christ’ and to ensure that we connect with our grandparents by giving them a hug or a phonecall. We should continually let them know how much we love them. It is a time when we remember all our grandparents, especially if they are no longer with us. We acknowledge this and say a prayer for them and remember special memories with our families.
Ms Rodgers and her 5th class children prepared for a special morning on Wednesday when the grandparents of 5th class children visited the school to share their time and banter. The board games were taken out and before long, the room was buzzing while grandparents and children enjoyed charades, 5 Seconds,Connect 4, Guess Who? etc. There was an opportunity to take fun photographs, donning various hats and shades. Grandparents shared their own experience of school life and we realised just how much school life has changed. Thank you to Fr Gerry for joining us on the day and praying with us for all people, past and present.
We were so impressed with the boys and girls of 5th class and their teacher for giving us a morning that demonstrated the theme of Catholic Schools Week- ‘Alive in Christ’. Long may this tradition continue.
