Green Day for St Peter’s Pupils, Parents and Staff

Congratulations to the whole school community on receiving our 11th Green Schools Flag. We take great pride in the fact that St Peter’s NS has a long tradition, in fact 22 years of promoting Green Schools Initiatives. Our Green Schools committee for last year was represented by Niamh, Luke, Ella and Noah, and along with Susan Byrne and Nora Kerr from the Parents’ Council, they gave Anthony the nod to raise the flag high on Tuesday morning.

It was the perfect day for our celebration as we had our first Walking Bus for this school year  from Commons Grove to St Peter’s. Many thanks to all for the great turnout. We would especially like to thank Dromiskin Tidy Towns members, Pat, Mary, Louise and Niall for helping us to supervise children along the route. Their continued support for school initiatives is stronger than ever. A special word of thanks to Dave Kinahan for the drone footage- the aerial photographs are spectacular.

We will continue to maintain the four Climate Ambassador initiatives adopted over the last two years, ie Mulch Matters, I Like to Move It Move It, Rain Rebels and No Power Hour and look forward to working towards our 12th Green Flag.
