What is the Programme all about?

The Blue Star Programme is a creative primary schools’ initiative. The objective of the Programme is to encourage primary schools to undertake a module of tasks related to the EU. Pupils in St. Peter’s were challenged to get creative and think about Europe by carrying out projects in relation to History, Geography, Culture and Institutions of the EU

Who took part?

Pupils from Ms Keane O Hagan’s  6th class, Ms. Farrell’s 5th class, Ms S Mc Keown’s 4th class and Ms Larney’s 3rd class completed the tasks but other classes, children and parents were involved during the year

What happened?

Projects were done on European History, Geography, Culture and EU Institutions.We had a visit from MEP, Ms Mairead Mc Guinness and we  organised a European Day open to all the school. Click HERE for video of our Europe Day and Handshake for Europe Day

What did we get?

Successful schools were awarded an EU flag and  a Blue Star at the end of the programme in May/June
