A TOUR OF OUR SCHOOL BY MS FARRELL'S CLASS

  Main School Website

There is a Green Schools Notice Board in our school hall, because our school has been awarded the Green Flag for our care of the environment. St. Peter’s N.S. got the flag in 2002 and we have had it renewed ever since. We recycle paper, cardboard, cans and plastic bottles. We try not to wrap lunch in cling film or tin foil. Slogans are put up to remind us to save energy, for example: “When it’s bright, turn off the light”, or “Think as you drink”. We have posters to remind us not to drop litter. Fourth class do a litter patrol every day in the school grounds. There are compost bins in every classroom for recycling fruit skins and bread crusts. Ham and cheese may not be put into the compost bins. Sixth class pupils empty the contents of these bins into our compost heap.
