THE TEACHERS VS. SIXTH CLASS

Once again the teachers were victorious (despite some dubious tackling by a certain male teacher who shall remain nameless!) The game was very close, but in the end the pros won, with a final score of 2-1. This marks two in a row for the teachers. Will next year's Sixth fair any better?

THIRD, FOURTH, FIFTH & SIXTH CLASSES

The senior classes had major competitions running throughout the day. These ranged from sack racing, spud and spoon all the way up to long distance running. There were a few close calls by the line judges - the talent this year was unbelievable.

FIRST & SECOND CLASSES

We commandeered half of the senior pitch to hold our sports day races. We had some inventive teachers on the day and so some of our races were a little unusual! We ran sprints, crawling races, frog (yes frog) and crab races, hugging races and a majorly impressive obstacle course. Each child will get a certificate for their participation. They were wonderfully encouraging of each other during all the races. The second class even held a relay race!

JUNIOR & SENIOR INFANTS

All the action for the infants took place in the Junior Yard ("The Pen") where the children ran in lots of exciting races! These races included the sprint, crawling race and even a sack race! The boys and girls all got certificates at the end of the day to celebrate their participation. They even got to take part in some of the 1st and 2nd class races on the big pitch.

PARENTS RACE 2010

Don't worry... we didn't leave out one of the most important races of the day... the PARENTS' RACE!
