SCHOOL TOUR 2008

Our school tour this year was to Dublin Zoo. We travelled up on the bus and were very lucky because the sun shone all day! As you can tell from the photographs the baby elephant was one of our favourite animals and if you look very closely you can see the baby hiding behind the big elephant! We got to have a picnic and on the way home we travelled through the port tunnel. We had loads of fun and teacher was very proud of our behaviour!

SCIENCE EXPERIMENT

We designed kites as part of our unit on wind and air. We tested our kites outside to see if we could get them to fly. Unfortunately we were too quick so our teacher couldn't catch the kites on camera but they went super high!! Designing our kites turned into a great maths and art lesson!

  PLANTING

We planted seeds in February and every day we made sure they had plenty of water and that they had lots of sun. When the plants grew big and strong we started putting them outside in the morning to make them big and strong and took them in at home time. Once the plants were strong enough we planted the flowers outside. Unlucky for us, we choose the sunniest week and our plants didn't fare too well!

Day and Night

We have been learning about day and night. Here are the pictures we made for about the night sky.

Here are the pictures we made about day time. We used paper that we cut using scissors to make the clouds, sun, grass and bridges. Some of our class added bridges, people and birds to their pictures using chalk and crayons.

Boo!

For Halloween we got to dress up (and scare our teacher)! Just before lunch we got to go on a witch's walk around the school to see if we could scare the older boys and girls!

~~The Witch's Walk!~~

Halloween Pumpkins

We decorated our classroom by making scary pumpkin faces to scare all the visitors. Look if you dare!

~~Autumn Trees~~

We have been learning about the colours leaves turn in Autumn. We went on a nature walk to see all the different colours we could find. We then made our Autumn Trees. Look out for the different types of weather in our pictures.

~~Spooky Cats!~~

We wrote a spooky Halloween story about a magic colourful cat who only comes out on Halloween night. We used chalk to make out colourful witch's cats.

~~Scary Monsters!~~

We used chalk and crayon to make scary faces on these monster outlines!

~~~~Maths - Patterns~~~~
We are learning about patterns this month.
Can you spot the colours we used in our patterns?
