ICT PAGE

In St. Peter's, we pride ourselves on having a wide range of ICT available for our children to use to enhance their learning. We currently have an Interactive Whiteboard (IWB) in each classroom (8 in total). We have two laptop trolleys with 16 DELL laptops and 16 Compaq laptops, so we can have one laptop for each child (depending on the activity). Each classroom is equiped with a digital camera, speaker system, microphone and at least one set of headphones. The newest additions this year (2011) are the new work stations in the 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th classrooms. On each of these stations there are 3 desktop computers. We also have a new interactive screen set up in our main reception area, which can broadcast the latest information to parents almost instantly. There is a new overhead projector added to the main hall. All this wonderful technology was made possible by the continued support of the parents and community during our fundraising activities.We also have wireless internet access and a whole page on our website devoted to interactive educational activities (HERE). We hope to showcase some of the work we do on this page, so make sure to check back often!

OCTOBER 2009

Sixth Class and Second Class paired up to work on the school laptops together. Second Class had written Halloween poems and stories during Writing Workshop and were learning how to proofread and type their stories on Microsoft Word. Sixth Class were fantastic teachers and showed the younger children how to use the keyboard, put in capitals and how to insert punctuation. They also showed us how to add clip art to make our writing look even better!

Second Class had a chance to teach Sixth Class too. They showed the older children different games on the Interactive Whiteboard, how to use the interactive pens and how to use the IWB software.
