As part of the Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme, a member of the school staff and two pupils were invited to a special medal ceremony, which took place in the presence of the Minister with Responsibility for Defence, Mr. Paul Kehoe T.D. in Aiken Barracks Dundalk on Wednesday 7 December 2016 at 9.30am.
Present on the day were Ms Farrell and a boy and girl from 4th class. They enjoyed their morning in the barracks and the pupils had their picture taken with the Minister and also one with Sergeant Riccardo Lucchesi who co-0rdinated the visit from all the schools
