The annual visit of M&M’ Production’s Pantomime was eagerly awaited in Dromiskin. Friday 26th January was the date and this year’s performance was the evergreen Sleeping Beauty. Once again we had a great time and the roof of the PE hall was lifted with the sound of ….. “Oh no you’re not!!” ……. shouted by irate young pupils. We also enjoyed an array of popular songs which the boys and girls joined in with enthusiastically
Eric and the pretty Sleeping Beauty Aurora were a big hit and we were also entertained by the King and Queen, Merryweather, Silly Billy and Face Ache. Other unusual characters included Bunny Rabbit and Captain Pirate who added light relief to proceedings.
However it was the evil Maleficent who raised the hackles of the whole audience. She was booed raucously as she attempted to do down poor Princess Aurora. She won’t be getting any Christmas Cards this year!!
However, in true pantomime tradition Sleeping Beauty and Eric triumphed in the end and the evil Maleficent got her comeuppance much to the delight of the young spectators. Well done to all the Infant children and older who rallied to support our heroine! Maybe we have some young pantomime stars of the future.
