On Tuesday 2nd February 2016 choir mistress, Ms Farrell and Ms O Hanlon took the school choir to Belfast for a special practice in preparation for the Cross Border Orchestra’s Peace Proms later in the month. The practice took place in the Whitla Theatre in Queens University with schools from Northern Ireland and some from the republic in attendance.
This was their first time working with new orchestra conductor, Greg Beardsell, and he certainly put them through their paces making a very favourable impression.
St Peter’s will be performing the following songs with the 500 strong Cross Border Choir: Friends, Imagine, Power of the Dream, Touch the Sky, World in Union, Matilda, Pop and Ireland’s Call. The Peace Proms take place on Sunday 28th February in the SSE Arena, Belfast, and is a magnificent spectacle. We’re all looking forward to it.
