Sergeant Mark Mc Nulty was a welcome visitor to the school on Tuesday 26th June. He was there primarily to present the annual attendance certificates but also to speak to the children about safety matters heading in to the summer holidays.

At the school assembly, he spoke to all the pupils urging them to be careful at all times when out walking and cycling. He reminded them about the rules of the road and the importance of wearing seat belts. Sergeant Mark also spoke about how important it was to be careful around water and to be sure that there was proper adult supervision while swimming in the sea, river, lakes or pools.

We then had the presentation of attendance certificates. The most improved award went to those students who had made a significant improvement on the previous year. Next we had certificates for those who had missed only one day in the course of the school year – 13 in total. In what is a remarkable achievement, we had 19 children in total who had perfect attendance in the 2017/18 school year. Well done to all.

Principal Mr Mulligan reminded all children of the need for good attendance and also to be at school in time each morning. He thanked Sergeant Mc Nulty for interrupting his busy schedule to help out the school and also Anne Mc Guinness for checking out all the attendance figures.
